Sunday, October 2nd, was The Westport Community Gardens Annual Harvest Party featuring food prepared with items grown in the garden. Some of the items were Pasta prepared with Basil Sauce (Pesto), Pasta w/Zucchini, Salsa made from Tomatillos, Squash Soup, Pizza topped with garden vegetables, pickles and other tasty items. Some of the wine was Connecticut grown. Lou Weinberg, the Garden’s president, praised the hard work done by all in expanding the garden for new members this year. |
